Support Programme for Protected Areas - Armenia
This KfW financed project aims to improve natural resources and protected areas management and the socio-economic situation of concerned rural communities in Syunik region in southern Armenia. In the long term, this is to contribute to maintaining biodiversity in the South Caucasus without negatively affecting the income situation and the livelihoods of the rural population.
Your Main Duties in this Role
• Provide coordination (with a focus on coordination in the project area), facilitation, technical and administrative support to the Project and its stakeholders;
• Coordinate the implementation of priority activities agreed to be carried out;
• Assist technical specialists in carrying out their tasks;
• Provide liaison with project stakeholders and facilitate project implementation;
• Provide field supervision and ensure the timelines and quality of deliverables of contractors;
• Act as the Consultant’s focal point for project stakeholders and contractors;
• Represent the Consultant during and provide inputs into project management meetings;
• Provide coordination, communication, logistics, and time management support to the Consultant’s infrastructure team;
• Support the implementation of peripheral activities;
• Assist in the collection and compilation of information and data necessary for measuring project indicators and reporting, and carry out related analyses;
• Provide inputs into the project reporting; and
• Carry out other tasks as this may reasonably be required by the international Team Leader.
Your Educational Background
• Postgraduate qualification (preferably MSc or equivalent) related to the project activities to be coordinated
Your Expertise / Professional Experience
• At least 5 years of practical work experience in a similar position, a significant part of which gained through natural resources management, socio-economic development and / or infrastructure projects supported by international organizations and / or funding agencies;
• Excellent project coordination skills;
• Knowledge of and experience with environment protection issues and protected areas in Armenia;
• Excellent command of both English and Armenian languages (written and oral); and
• Strong computer (MS Office, internet) skills.
